Colouring your hair at home does not always go to plan! Unexpected shades, colour bands, patches and damaged or broken hair are just some of the issues we have had to resolve.
So if you’ve experienced a hair colour disaster, you'll be pleased to know that all our colour technicians are experts in hair colour correction who can help restore your hair so that it looks and feels healthy again.
We also have Tara, an Affinage Colour Master in training, who can confidently overcome any colour challenge you are struggling with.
The first step is to come in for a complimentary hair colour consultation so we can make a plan of action. At this stage we will explain what we can do, how long it will take and how much it will cost.
PLEASE NOTE: We are committed to colour safety and ask all our clients to undertake a colour skin test 48 hours before any colour service. No skin test; no colour.
Improving the appearance of over-processed hair
It's not just home hair colour that can go wrong. From time-to-time salons allow clients to over-process their hair leading to damage and breakage.
Our colourists are experienced in repairing bleach-damaged or sun-damaged hair by restoring some of the moisture that has been lost by over-processing. Once your hair has been treated, it will look more vibrant and feel much softer and silkier.
Other in-demand services include correcting highlights that are too brassy or yellow and sorting out unsightly bands of hair colour that have overlapped.
If your hair colour has turned out too light we can add a darker, warmer shade or lowlights.
Hair colour disasters with home dye kits
We see quite a few hair disasters from clients who use home dye kits.
The first thing to know is that it is impossible to tell what shade you are choosing when you see it on the side of the box. You cannot know how it will work on your base colour or on any natural variances in tone you have.
Box colours can work reasonably well on ‘virgin’ hair that has not been coloured before, but it can be difficult to achieve an even tone when applying the colour yourself.
We will assess each area of your hair to ensure your new hair colour is applied evenly and we may even use different techniques, colours and tones on various sections of your hair to the stunning even hair colour you deserve.
